£60,000 from UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund.

The Boston Woods Trust; Dion’s Wood Nature Reserve has been awarded £60,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.

The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business and people and skills.

The latest development is Dion’s Wood Nature Reserve adjacent to the Pilgrim Hospital and Butterfly Hospice. 16,500 trees have been planted and are being tended by our amazing volunteers. £60,000 from the UKSPF will mean that the Trust can fund the construction of a car park and fulfil the planning requirement to construct a footpath along Willoughby Road. The money will also allow us to train volunteers, provide necessary equipment and continue to develop the site.

It is brilliant news that Boston is going to benefit from UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda and a great vote of confidence to the many local people who have been supporters and or volunteers of The Boston Woods Trust over the years.

Please help us match this funding, this is a requirement of the award. We are working hard applying for grants and awards and hope that those who benefit from this amazing free facility on their doorstep will donate. This can be done via paypal or bank transfer, for details please go to our website; www.bostonwoods.co.uk Your support is very important to enable Boston to get Levelling Up money to continue improving the area.
