Clearing the brash

It will take a while to complete, but visitors to Beech Wood will notice that we have started to chip and clear all the brash created by the thinning and pruning which has been done this season.

The chippings are being taken to Dion’s Wood where all the young trees are having a layer of mulch, which makes a big difference to their growth and survival rate.

The work done on Beech Wood will allow stronger growth of the remaining trees and more light will help all the woodland flowers which have been planted.

We rely on our volunteers to actively manage the trees to create sustainable woodland for the future. Thanks to all involved.
